Venus in Sagittarius ♀♐

Sagittarius is the sign of philosophers and explorers, of spiritual gurus and religious messiahs.
When Venus, the planet of love, falls into the sign of Sagittarius in a horoscope, that person will be a very idealistic and adventurous lover.

They're very generous and optimistic in their relationships, they are in love with the excitement of relationships.
They want to explore all the best bits of being in relationships, without being fenced in and losing their personal space - their ideals are very high.

Although they're quite restless and have this bad reputation of moving on easily and quickly, their high moral integrity also makes them believe in honesty and loyalty.
Their idealism will even be reflected on their partner or crush: They tend to see them as way better and bigger than they are.
Since sagittarius rules religion, they will literally worship the object of their desire.
They will be spiritually committed to a relationship, once they found that one person.
In the beginning, they always think its that one person.

However, when they start having to compromise, they start freaking out.
Sagittarius Venus highly values personal freedom in relationships. They believe that you shouldn't have to make any sacrifices and should stay on your own path while being with someone.
Like I said: High ideals.
They don't like to believe that it's not possible to be in a committed relationship and not have that affect your own life and limit your freedom.

Being the philosophers and travelers, they like to connect with people by going on road trips, journeys and any kind of random adventure together. Or by deep, long conversations.

They're really attracted to someone they can have a proper conversation with.
They want to be with someone who can teach them something new, make them see the world from a new perspective. They're attracted to intelligence and good education.

The down-side of having your venus in sagittarius is that the idealism can reach unhealthy levels:
These people can ignore problems, because they only want to see the good and happy parts of relationships.
They hate being dragged down.
As much as they love talking about god and the world, they don't like talking about their own feelings. And they even sometimes ignore other peoples feelings.
They're so honest and blunt that they don't realize that what they say can be hurtful.

Venus in Sagittarius Woman

Somebody who identifies as female and has Venus in Sagittarius in their horoscope, will be really idealistic in love.
They dream of this perfect, adventurous, partners-in-crime kind of relationship.
Their standards are extremely high, but they are optimistic that they will be met one day.
This woman will want a lover and a best friend in one person, somebody who joins them on their journey but gives them enough space to develop individually.
Somebody who will make them grow as a person and make their life an exciting adventure.

Venus in Sagittarius Man

Somebody who identifies as male and has Venus in Sagittarius in their horoscope, will look for and be attracted to a partner that is very idealistic.
They're looking for someone who is happy-go-lucky, with strong morals and a thirst for life.
This man will like women who are not as ladylike, someone who is "one of the boys", a bit on the wild and natural side. This could be a tomboy or a boho kind of girl.
They want to talk about deep topics, about god, philosophy, the meaning of life, world religions.
Although they also enjoy heated discussion, they would prefer someone who shares their views.
They want a girl who will expand their horizons, introduce them to new knowledge and take them on adventures.

Follow Me Project

I'm pretty sure you've heard of the Follow Me project before, or rather, you've seen the pictures before: A russian photographer took pictures of his girlfriend "leading him" along a journey around the world.
The ideal dream of a Venusian Sagittarius.

Hozier - Take Me To Church

I absolutely love Hozier and this song depicts the venus placement in sagittarius perfectly.
It's about someone who is so in love with a girl, that he starts worshiping her to the point of building a religion around her.
The only heaven I'll be sent to
Is when I'm alone with you—
[...]
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
[...]
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice
[...]
When the Ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
It's an amzing song and the music video deals with homophobia so it's worth a watch:

Tarzan

I just had to include another video. Tarzan is my favourite childhood movie and the scene of "Strangers Like Me" really shows the venus in sagittarius way of falling in love: by learning from and teaching each other, exploring the world, going on adventures.

  1. I love this description! My boyfriend is a venus in sagittarius and this description is spot on. (and you posted this on his birthday as well ;) )

"This man will like women who are not as ladylike, someone who is "one of the boys", a bit on the wild and natural side. This could be a tomboy or a boho kind of girl."

I think this is true, although I'm not a tomboy like I used to be (jeans and sneakers), he thinks I'm just as beautiful when I'm casual, without wearing make up as I am when I douse myself up with some make up and a dress and heels.

"They want to talk about deep topics, about god, philosophy, the meaning of life, world religions. Although they also enjoy heated discussion, they would prefer someone who shares their views. They want a girl who will expand their horizons, introduce them to new knowledge and take them on adventures."

Having talks like these is one of my favourite things to do with him, to be honest his wise intellect has always astonished me. I think he's always happy to finally have found a girl who is willing to have deep conversations with, as the girls he previously knew were kind of shallow in a way.

The feelings part is something that is kind of difficult to deal with because I wear by heart on my sleeve myself, I have to really pull his emotions out of him. The upside is that I'm always patient and understanding when he does express his feelings.
